Clarksville man sentenced to house arrest for child porn
WAYNESBURG – A 67-year-old Clarksville man who possessed on his cellphone a nude photo of a young girl was sentenced Thursday to two years of county intermediate punishment with the first six months on house arrest with electronic monitoring.
James Curtis Kovach, of 520 Sugar Lane, pleaded guilty in March to possession of child pornography and criminal use of a communications device. As part of a plea agreement, the district attorney’s office withdrew two counts of disseminating child porn.
According to court documents, Kovach had a nude photo of a girl, between the ages of six and eight, saved to his cellphone. Police arrested him in August 2015.
Greene County Judge Lou Dayich ordered Kovach to pay $600 in fines, complete 100 hours of community service and to continue counseling. Kovach will have to register as a sex offender for the next 15 years.
