NYC man charged with forgery

A New York City man was charged with forgery Thursday morning for allegedly attempting to pass several counterfeit bills.

Antoine Gregory, 21, of Springfield Gardens, allegedly used counterfeit $50 bills to purchase gift cards totaling $600 at CVS Pharmacy in Franklin Township about 11:30 a.m., state police said.

A few minutes after CVS contacted police, Gregory was identified by police in Walmart on Murtha Drive. Police said the man ran from them and into another customer in an aisle. Police Tasered the man to arrest him and found additional counterfeit bills in his pockets along with two identification cards, according to court documents.

Gregory was also charged with theft, recklessly endangering another person and resisting arrest. He is being held at Greene County jail on $50,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday before Senior District Judge Jesse Cramer.
