Route 980 to close to construction
A section of Route 980 (McDonald Street) will be closed at the railroad tunnel overpass north of Route 50 in Cecil Township. Work begins on Monday and is expected to be completed Aug. 21. Crews will reconstruct the roadway under and adjacent to the Norfolk & Western railroad overpass, the state Department of Transportation said.
A posted detour will be in place using Route 980 (McDonald Street), Route 50, Route 4037, Route 4012 and Route 980.
Local traffic will be permitted to travel from McDonald to the Norfolk & Western Railroad overpass throughout the duration of the project but will not be able to get to Route 50 from McDonald or to McDonald from Route 50 without using the detour.
