South Strabane police arrest two on drug charges
South Strabane Township police arrested two people on drug charges Wednesday afternoon after getting a complaint that they were using heroin inside a car parked in the lot at Trinity Point.
Kelly Lynn Adams, 27, of 807 Wood St., Richeyville, and Glenn Alan Flory Jr., 28, of 242 Spring Valley Road, Marianna, were taken into custody just after noon in the lot near Walmart.
When police arrived, a witness pointed out the vehicle. The officer parked in a spot near it and as he approached the passenger side, he could see the driver making some movements inside the vehicle.
The passenger, identified as Flory, was nodding off and appeared to be under the influence of heroin. After the officer knocked on the window, Flory opened the door. The officer told Flory and the driver, identified as Adams, that he had received a complaint they were doing drugs. Both denied using drugs.
The officer was given permission to search the vehicle by Adams. Adams was told to step to the back of the vehicle but she instead walked around the front, placing a black box on the ground under the vehicle.
Officer John Beckus retrieved the box, finding 27 stamp bags on suspected heroin along with a bag of marijuana, empty stamp bags and two narcotic pills. Inside the vehicle, police found a needle and multiple stamp bags. Police found $4,186 inside Adams’ purse along with multiple empty stamp bags.
Both were arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of paraphernalia and conspiracy. They were released from Washington County Jail after posting $10,000 bond. They are scheduled for a preliminary hearing before Weller on June 14.
