Resisting arrest: Shawn Charles Christopher, 38, of 322 N. Market St., Carmichaels, was charged Monday by Cumberland Township police with resisting arrest, public drunkenness and two counts of disorderly conduct. Police said they were in Carmichaels early Monday to follow leads from an earlier Nemacolin theft case when they came upon Christopher at an apartment in the 100 block of East South Street in the borough. Police said they tried to question Christopher, but he walked away from the officers, before allegedly becoming aggressive with them. Police said one of the officers wrestled with Christopher on the ground while trying to arrest him. Christopher is being held Greene County jail on $3,500 bail.

Police chase: Zachary Lee Hodgson, 22, of 38 Grandview Drive, Waynesburg, was charged by state police with fleeing from police, along with nine other traffic violations after allegedly leading police on a high speed chase through Morgan Township about 1:30 a.m. Sunday. According to court documents, Hodgson was allegedly driving a pickup truck on Route 188 near Homeville Road in Morgan Township, when police tried to pull him over for speeding and an equipment violation. Police said Hodgson refused to pull over and traveled west for about 3 miles at “a high rate of speed” before hitting a guardrail and coming to a stop near Strope Road in Franklin Township.
