Closures at Speers Bridge
Ramp closures will be in place at Speers Bridge, which connects Interstate 70 with Routes 88 and 906, to allow crews to perform concrete pavement patching and repairs. Speers Bridge carries Interstate 70 over the Monongahela River between Washington and Westmoreland counties.
The tentative time frames are as follows:
• Ramp from I-70 eastbound to Route 88 will be closed between June 17 and 20. A marked detour will be in place using I-70 east, Route 906 north, the Charleroi-Monessen Bridge and Route 88 south. In addition to this closure, the ramp from Maple Drive to I-70 eastbound will be closed at this time and will have a posted detour using Twilight Hollow Road, to Route 43 to I-70 eastbound.
• Ramp from Route 88 to Interstate 70 eastbound will be closed between June 24 and 27. A marked detour will be in place using Route 88, the ramp from Route 88 to I-70 west, I-70 west Route 43 to I-70 east.
• Ramp from Route 88 to I-70 westbound will be closed between July 8 and July 11. A marked detour will be in place using Route 88, the Charleroi-Monessen Bridge, Route 906 south, the ramp from Route 906 south to I-70 westbound and I-70.
• Ramp from I-70 westbound to Route 88 will be closed between July 15 and 18. A marked detour will be in place using I-70 west, Route 43, I-70 east, the ramp from I-70 east to Route 88, and Route 88.
• Ramp from Route 906 to I-70 west will be closed between July 29 and Aug. 1. A marked detour will be in place using Route 906, the Charleroi-Monessen Bridge, Route 88, the ramp from Route 88 to I-70 and I-70 west.
