Police beat June 10
Mischief charge: Alexander Neil Rocks, 23, of Blairsville, was charged Tuesday by California police with criminal mischief and public drunkenness stemming from a May 7 incident at Dollar General on Wood Street. He is accused of damaging one of the store’s front windows as he walked past. Rocks, who police said was under the influence of alcohol, did $4,346.99 in damage to the window. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.
Charged in crash: Amanda Mae Yater, 31, of 23 Ward St., Washington, was charged Tuesday by state police with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, failure to stay in her lane and careless driving stemming from a two-vehicle crash May 20 on Route 844 (Jefferson Avenue) at Smiley Road, Canton. Yater allegedly had four drugs in her system, including amphetamine and methamphetamine, when she collided with a vehicle driven by Steven Colussi, 29, of Claysville. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Theft alleged: Mary Tatiana Luttner, 24, of 120 N. Fourth St., Apartment B, Greensburg, is charged by city police with unauthorized access device use, theft, forgery and receiving stolen property, court records show. Luttner is accused of stealing three checks and a credit card from an 85-year-old bedridden woman and making numerous charges while she was caring for a man in the 30 block of Colonial Drive about 2:50 p.m. April 5. Police filed the charges Wednesday before District Judge Joseph Dalfonso.
False ID charge: David T. Hall, 30, of 133 N. Second St., Suite 2, West Newton, is charged by city police with giving a false identification to law enforcement, retail theft, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness, court records show. Police accuse him of attempting to steal a Brillo pad from Family Dollar, 301 Donner Ave., about 3:20 p.m. April 9, court records show. He also allegedly gave police a false identification when he was approached a short time later during a traffic stop. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso issued the charges in a summons Wednesday.
Police struggle alleged: Justin Keith Loar, 36, of 743 Findlay St., Washington, is charged by city police with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct over allegations he was forcibly escorted by a deputy sheriff to be taken from the city police station to Westmoreland County jail on a probation violation about 12:50 a.m. May 30, court records show. Police filed the charges Wednesday before District Judge Joseph Dalfonso.
Person injured in crash: Joy Jones, 42, of 203 Lightholder Drive, McMurray, was injured Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on Route 519 near Linden Road, North Strabane police said. Jones was stopped in the southbound lane when police said she was hit from behind by a vehicle driven by Chad Bell, 16, of 60 Carl Ave., Eighty Four. Jones was taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment of injuries to her neck and arm. Township firefighters assisted.
Father reports assault: James Carroll of 25 Central Ave. told Washington police Wednesday he was assaulted by his 14-year-old daughter at their home. Both were taken to Washington Hospital.
Account opened: Joseph Brown of Washington told Washington police Wednesday an account was opened in his name at Comcast without his permission. He told police a former caregiver had access to his personal information.
