State police have identified the four motorcycle riders injured in a crash Sunday morning that killed one of their companions on Route 136 just east of Lusk Road in Nottingham Township.

Darla J. Cook, 51, of Washington, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was a passenger on a motorcycle operated by Walter R. Maleski Jr., 58, also of Washington. Daryl Ricardo Saunders, 65, of Pittsburgh, was alone on his motorcycle. A third motorcycle was operated by Charles Raymond Santi, 56, of Amity. His passenger was Sandra Kay Conklin, 61, of Washington.

The three motorcycles were going east on Route 136 about 9:45 a.m. with Maleski about 200 feet in front of the other motorcycles. A car driven by Arthur Peter Gingliardi, 73, of Monongahela, was going west when he crossed over the center line while going around a right curve, crashing into Maleski’s motorcycle, police said. Gingliardi’s car traveled 200 feet, hitting the other two motorcycles before coming to a stop.

Maleski and Saunders were flown to Pittsburgh hospitals for treatment of multiple injuries, police said. Santi and Conklin were taken by ambulance to an undisclosed hospital.

Police said they are continuing their investigation into the crash. No charges have been filed.

The motorcycle riders were members of a club and were headed to Ligonier.
