Greene County court cases
A number of criminal defendants pleaded guilty this week before Greene County Judge Louis Dayich.
Dianna Mae Sheaffer, 32, of 3260 Spring Road, Carlisle; offense – possession of drug paraphernalia; a marijuana grinder, bowl, and plastic bag with marijuana residue were found in her vehicle Oct. 24 in the parking lot at SCI-Greene; a drug dog alerted authorities to the items inside the vehicle; sentence – 6 months probation, $300 fine, 50 hours of community service.
Jessica Lee Barteldt, 33, of 330 Denney Road, Uledi; driving under the influence of alcohol, second offense in 10 years, careless driving; arrested Dec. 14, Barteldt had a blood-alcohol content level of 0.172 percent; three children were in her vehicle; sentence – 5 years in the county intermediate punishment program with the first 90 days on house arrest, $1,525 in fines, 200 hours of community service.
Michael Phillip Gulley, 26, of 425 Third St., Greensboro; offenses – DUI, second offense in 10 years, and a summary violation; arrested Dec. 24, Gulley had a BAC of 0.192; sentence – 5 years in the county intermediate punishment program with the first 90 days on house arrest, $1,625 in fines, 200 hours of community service.
Terri Lynn Black, 50, no address given, formerly of Monongahela Township; offenses – possession, possession with intent to deliver and delivery of a controlled substance; Oct. 16, 2012, Black sold four Oxycontin pills to an undercover state police trooper; sentence – recommended to the state intermediate punishment program, a two-year program that includes a prison sentence and drug and alcohol treatment; a consecutive three years of probation.
Randy Allan Kimble, 28, of 855 Rolling Meadows Road, Waynesburg; offenses – two counts of simple assault, amended from two counts of aggravated assault; on Sept. 5, while an inmate at the Greene County jail, Kimble hit a corrections officer twice with an open hand causing minor injury and spit on her; sentence – following preparation of a pre-sentence report.
Douglas Lee Palmer, 55, of 114 Fish Pot Road, Fredericktown; offenses – DUI, possession of a small amount of marijuana, two summary violations; arrested Aug. 30, he had a BAC of 0.241 percent and was in possession of a small amount of marijuana; sentence – following preparation of a pre-sentence report.
Lawrence Kay Dunmire, 20, of 204 Donham Road, Greensboro; offense – theft by deception; between Sept. 18 and Oct. 20, Dunmire used another person’s credit card account information to make $1,331.79 in purchases; sentence – 3 years of probation, restitution, 100 hours of community service.
Andrew Glenn Knight, 25, of 405 Dutch Run Road, Waynesburg; offenses – driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving after imbibing alcohol or a controlled substance; Oct. 31, Knight was found unresponsive behind the wheel of a running vehicle at Walmart. Blood tests indicated a chemical in his system associated with cocaine use; sentence – 30 days to 6 months in jail, 50 hours of community service.
Mary Landman, 50, of 1200 Fifth St., Waynesburg; offense – driving after imbibing alcohol or a controlled substance; Landman was involved in a vehicle crash in Waynesburg Nov. 19; blood tests indicated she was under the influence of Clonazepam; sentence – 72 hours to 6 months in jail, 100 hours of community service.
Larry Steven Hagyari, 27, formerly of Jefferson; offense – DUI; arrested Sept. 12, Hagyari had a BAC of 0.139 percent; sentence – 48 hours to 6 months in jail, credit for time served, $500 fine.
Jason Lee Bergman, 32, of 1601 Clubhouse Circle, Washington; DUI and four summary violations; arrested Oct. 18, following a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 79, Bergman had a BAC of 0.123 percent; sentence – 48 hours to 6 months in jail; $575 in fines; 60 hours of community service.
Michael Travis Hodgson, 28, of 172 Tollgate Run Road, Waynesburg; offenses – theft from a motor vehicle, conspiracy; Oct. 22, Hodgson and another man stole tools and equipment form a truck on Hull Run Road in Morgan Township; sentence – 30 days to 23 ½ months in jail, $100 fine.
William Alfred Welsh Jr., 48, of 220 Inwood Ave., Carmichaels; offense – possession of a controlled substance; charges of possession with intent to deliver and delivery of a controlled substance were withdrawn; arrested on a warrant Sept. 3, Welsh was in possession of 69 stamp bags of heroin; sentence – 3 to 6 months in jail, credit for 56 days served; $300 fine, 60 hours of community service.
Drake Edward Galloway, 21, of 395 Barton Hollow Road, Waynesburg; offenses – two cases: cruelty to animals and conspiracy and four counts unlawfully killing or taking big game; Oct. 12, Galloway was driving a vehicle from which a juvenile passenger shot and killed a dog with a bow and arrow on Whites Ridge Road, Franklin Township; Dec. 2, he was charged with shooting four anterless deer out of season; sentence – Galloway was earlier sentence to ARD on the cruelty charge; that sentence was revoked and he was sentenced for both cases to 48 hours to 18 months in jail, ordered to pay $3,000 in restitution to the dog owner and perform 100 hours of community service.
