A screenshot of a surveillance video from the Bridgeville Sunoco on Route 50 shows a Pontiac which carried a female person of interest, bearing a false license plate. The vehicle is owned by a Donora resident, but the license plate – KBP-6953 – is registered to a Ford.

CANONSBURG – Police in Canonsburg released information, video and still images in hopes of finding a person of interest potentially connected to a June 15 break-in at 515 Perry Como Ave.

Canonsburg police Detective Mike Ledger said the robbery victim, Raymond Lampenfeld, 59, opened his door to three people – two men and one woman – after a neighbor called him saying the three were “casing his apartment” about 1:20 a.m.

Said Ledger, “They came rushing in, saying, ‘Where are the pills? Where’s the money?'”

They got a debit card and a canister of change from Lampenfeld. Then, they took his home phone and roughed him up. One of them threatened him, saying they had a gun, Ledger said.

According to police reports, Lampenfeld thought the intruders were black, but the neighbor and corroborating video evidence indicated the suspects are white.

A video taken about 2:10 a.m. at the Bridgeville Sunoco on Route 50 shows a woman milling around the ATM at the gas station and attempting to use a debit card three times before giving up. She then purchases a small energy drink with handfuls of change. A still from the video at 2:20 a.m. shows a grey-blue Pontiac with license plate KBP-6953 leaving the scene. Ledger said the woman was either a passenger or the driver.

“We don’t know if this female was actually involved (in the Canonsburg incident) … so we’re hoping she or a friend of hers sees this, recognizes her and comes forward,” Ledger said. “But this car – it belongs to someone in Donora – and yet the license plate belongs to a Ford vehicle. So we’re trying to figure out exactly why she was riding in this vehicle around that time.”
