West Finley man jailed on assault charges
A West Finley man was jailed Saturday for allegedly threatening his wife and dog.
William McCurry, 57, of 424 Gunn Ridge Road, was arraigned before District Judge Larry Hopkins on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and terroristic threats.
According to state police, McCurry sent text messages to his daughter, claiming he was going to hurt her mother. The daughter contacted the mother, Theresa McCurry, who reportedly found William McCurry in the home, holding a handgun. He allegedly threatened to harm her and the dog. When McCurry left the room, Theresa McCurry told police she hid the gun in the bedroom. William McCurry then allegedly retrieved a rifle and refused to leave the house when officers arrived.
State police got a search warrant from Hopkins and returned, taking William McCurry into custody. He was placed in Washington County jail on $250,000 bond.
