Charged in chase: Richard M. Ritenour, 38, of 143 Main St., Bentleyville, was arrested Tuesday afternoon after he allegedly led Bentleyville police on a chase when they tried to stop him on Beallsville Road for not having emission or inspection stickers on his vehicle. Police said he drove about five miles before stopping. Ritenour was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka on charges of fleeing or attempting to elude police, reckless driving, careless driving and other violations. He was placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.

Items stolen: Theda Svitek of 319 Euclid Ave. told Canonsburg police a blue tarp and two pink flamingo lawn ornaments were stolen Tuesday from outside her home.

Paraphernalia charge: Tyler Wayne Smith, 22, of 165 Bench Ave., Canton, was charged this week by state police with possession of paraphernalia and driving under the influence of drugs stemming from a Nov. 15 incident on Euclid Street in Canton. Police said they found him slumped behind the wheel of his vehicle with the motor running and the car in gear. Police said they had blood drawn and determined he had cocaine, marijuana and morphine in his system. Charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

Drug charges: Christine M. Cain, 28, of 105 Conklin Road, Washington, was charged by a Washington County Drug Task Force detective with possession of heroin and paraphernalia. Police said the suspected drugs were found during a June 1 compliance check at 605 Fayette St. in Canton. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

Drivers in crash identified: North Strabane police identified the four drivers involved in a chain-reaction crash Tuesday morning that involved three passenger vehicles and a tractor-trailer. Police said a vehicle driven by Thomas Opel of New Salem hit the rear of a vehicle driven by Linda Seibert of Prosperity that was stopped on northbound Route 19 near Galley Road. The impact forced Seibert’s vehicle into a vehicle driven by Shane K. Miller of Pittsburgh, forcing his vehicle into the back of a tractor-trailer driven by Philip Lapp of Telford. Opel was taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment of a head laceration. Seibert refused treatment for a minor injury, police said.

One injured: Sara Redinger, 72, of Linden Vue Drive, Canonsburg, was injured Monday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash on Linden Creek Road near Galati Road, North Strabane police said. She told police she felt dizzy while she was driving and did not recall what happened just before her car went off the road and into a creek. She was taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment.

Batteries stolen: State police said six commercial batteries were reported stolen June 20 from 401 Old Scales Road, South Franklin. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-223-5200.

Driver injured: Denae Lint, 22, of Charleroi, was slightly injured Saturday when her vehicle struck the rear of a pickup truck driven by Robert Hegyi, 44, of Waynesburg, on the Murtland Avenue ramp at Interstate 70, South Strabane, state police said.

Window broken: Marissa Enrietto of Bethel Park told South Strabane police Monday the window of her vehicle was broken while the vehicle was parked at Tanger Outlets.

One injured: Kevin Kelly, 53, of Brownsville, was injured Friday when a vehicle in which he was a passenger was hit from behind on Interstate 79 northbound at the north junction with Interstate 70 westbound, South Strabane. The vehicle was driven by Greg House, 40, also of Brownsville. The other driver was identified as Nicholas Schafer, 34, of Pittsburgh, who will be cited with following too closely.

Money stolen: Janelle Cohen of Washington told Washington police Tuesday she had her wallet in a shopping cart at Shop ‘n Save, 125 W. Beau St. When the wallet was returned by an acquaintance, $100 was missing, she said.

House, vehicle shot: Chelsea Evanovich of 180 May Ave. told Washington police Tuesday she found two bullet holes in her house and one in her vehicle. She also found a .25 caliber bullet and casing. She told police she heard gunshots the previous night.

Wallet stolen: Bethany Kramer of Houston told Washington police Tuesday her wallet containing credit cards and $34 was stolen from her vehicle. She told police she believes the thief was one of three men who helped her with a child safety seat Saturday while she was parked in the 10 block of South Main Street.

Account accessed: Heather DeMotte of Washington told Washington police Tuesday $200 was stolen from her bank account after she mistakenly left her bank card in an automated teller machine at Get Go, 104 E. Wylie Ave.

Woman assaulted: DaiJai Smith, 21, of Maple Terrace, told Washington police a man she knows got out of a car and punched her Tuesday near the intersection of Maple and Michigan avenues. Charges are pending.
