Uniontown duo arrested in alleged rape and robbery
State police in Uniontown Wednesday arrested a man and a woman in connection with the alleged abduction, robbery, beating and rape of 19-year-old woman who was kidnapped at an ATM on Pittsburgh Street in Uniontown Saturday morning.
According to police, the woman was attacked while she was using the ATM at Frick Tri-County Credit Union.
Isiah Duwayne Colbert, 32, and Bobby Jo Mack, 31, both of Uniontown, were taken into custody at 2 p.m., after state police coordinated with the U.S. Marshals Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force.
The victim told police the pair assaulted her and forced her into a car, and drove her to cash machines in the Uniontown area, where they made her withdraw money. Colbert and Mack then drove the victim to a secluded area along Hopwood-Coolspring Road, where they took her to a wooded area and beat and raped her.
The woman said the pair left her lying injured in the woods.
She walked through the woods to the nearest home, along Coolspring-Jumonville Road in North Union Township, Fayette County, and told the residents that she had been beaten and raped.
The victim was flown by medical helicopter to Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va., where she was treated for severe injuries.
Police said the woman reported she never met Colbert or Mack, and she believes that she was the victim of a random act of violence.
The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with additional information is asked to call state police in Uniontown at 724-439-7015.
