CARMICHAELS – A Nemacolin man and woman were charged Friday with statutory sexual assault and other charges for allegedly having sex with a 15-year-old girl.

David W. Smith Jr., 25, of 126 Bliss Ave,. and Nina M. Jordan, 24, of 330 Grant St., were charged by Cumberland Township police with having sex with the girl at a house in Crucible on Feb. 14.

After receiving a report about the alleged activity, police said they interviewed Jordan and the girl.

Jordan admitted being at the house in Crucible on Feb. 14 and going with Smith and the girl to a bedroom. Jordan told police, however, she felt uncomfortable and left. The girl told police she had sex with both Jordan and Smith. The girl also told police all three took Subutex, a narcotic, before they engaged in sex.

Multiple text messages on Smith’s cellphone indicated a sexual relationship between Smith and the girl, police said.

Smith and Jordan were charged with statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, unlawful contact with a minor, conspiracy, corruption of a minor, indecent assault and indecent exposure.

Both were arraigned Friday before District Judge Glenn Bates. Jordan was jailed on $25,000 bond and Smith on $40,000 bond. Their preliminary hearings are set for 2:30 p.m. March 14 before District Judge Lee Watson.
