A baked steak dinner will be held by Jefferson United Methodist Church from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Jefferson Community Center. The menu will include baked steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw, country-style green beans, pickled beets, candied carrots, rolls, dessert and beverages. The price is $12 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger.
Country music will be featured at New Freeport fire hall from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday. Common Grounds and Country Sounds will perform. The event is sponsored by the fire company ladies’ auxiliary.
Master Gardeners of Greene County will host its annual “Spring into Gardening” seminar from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., April 2, at the Greene County Fairgrounds inside the 4-H Building. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the event will begin shortly after with opening remarks. In addition to a variety of speakers, the seminar will include local vendors, informational handouts, silent auction, refreshments, door prizes and soil test kits. Register by calling the Penn State Extension Office in Greene County at 724-627-3745. If registration is done before March 25, the cost is $12. The cost is $14 at the door. Checks should be made to payable to Extension Special Fund.
