LONDON – Producer Michael White, who brought the racy “Oh! Calcutta!” to the London stage and the outrageous “Rocky Horror Picture Show” to the screen, has died. He was 80.

The Society of West End Theatre says lights at London’s playhouses will be dimmed before Wednesday’s performances in White’s honor.

British media quoted ex-girlfriend Lyndall Hobbs as saying White died of heart failure in California.

The Glasgow-born impresario produced his first West End show in his mid-20s and went on to mega-success with the sexy musical revue “Oh! Calcutta!” Stage credits included the London premieres of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” “A Chorus Line” and “The Rocky Horror Show.”

Films included the 1975 movie version of “Rocky Horror,” starring Tim Curry and Susan Sarandon, and “Monty Python and the Holy Grail.”
