Residents safe following house fire in New Eagle

No one was injured in a house fire Wednesday afternoon in New Eagle.

According to New Eagle Fire Chief Paul Pro, the fire at 508 Walnut St., started around 12:40 p.m. in a chimney and spread to the second floor of the home, where three adults reside.

Pro said it took almost two hours to get the fire under control due to a large amount of items in the house. He said damage was extensive.

Seven fire departments assisted New Eagle. The flames were extinguished around 2:30 p.m.

Pro said the fire is not suspicious.
