Police beat March 15
Two face charges: Jaryn Jean Colwick, 22, and Steven Joseph Schwarzkopf, 26, both of Denver, Colo., face charges stemming from a domestic dispute Sunday afternoon at 84 Second St., California police said. Colwick will be charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. Schwarzkopf will be charged with disorderly conduct. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.
Harassment charge: John Isaac, 46, of Brownsville, will be charged by California police with harassment after he allegedly made numerous telephone calls to 222 Wilson Road last week. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.
Assault charge: Jeffrey Brian Templeton, 21, of Belmont, W.Va. was arrested Saturday by California Borough police and charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment. Police said they stopped to help Rebecca Tucker, 19, of New Haven, W.Va., change a flat tire at Beazelle and Second streets. Officers noticed her head was bleeding and there were two bite marks on her arm. Under questioning, Tucker told police Templeton hit her head with a car door and bit her. Templeton was arrested and arraigned before District Judge James Ellis, who ordered him jailed on $2,500 bond. Templeton has a preliminary hearing at 1 p.m. March 25 before District Judge Joshua Kanalis. Templeton will also be charged by California police with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct stemming from a domestic dispute Saturday afternoon at 193 Beazel St. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.
Woman struck: Police responded Saturday to an underage drinking party in the 100 block of Sycamore Drive in McMurray. The person who called police said he was afraid one of the juveniles at the party would attempt to drive. Police said the man was trying to prevent a juvenile from getting into a vehicle, and a female neighbor who was helping him was struck in the shoulder by a black sedan that was leaving the party. The woman declined medical attention. The incident remains under investigation.
Drug case: Brittney N. Ducsay, 21, of 1313 Morgan Circle, North Strabane Township, and Cain J. Tomcanin, 21, of 403 Harmony Church Road, Rostraver Township, are charged by Charleroi Regional police in a summons with possession of drug paraphernalia, court records show. Ducsay also faces a charge of possession of one stamp bag of heroin police said was found in her purse when they were summoned to a parking lot in the 400 block of McKean Avenue to investigate a drug overdose about 4:45 p.m. March 9.
False ID charge: Daneja R. Moorer, 22, of 410 Washington Ave., Charleroi, is charged with giving Charleroi Regional police a false identification after the car she was driving bumped into Myford Hotel, 700 Fallowfield Ave., about 12:45 a.m. Friday, court records show.
Teen injured: A 17-year-old Cross Creek boy is in critical but stable condition after he was flown to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh following a two-vehicle crash on Route 18 near Welch Lane about 6:39 a.m. Monday, Mt. Pleasant police said. A witness told police the teen was driving north when his vehicle crossed into the southbound lane, colliding head-on with a vehicle driven by Shawn Bright, 38, of Gaylord, Mich. Police said the teen suffered chest and leg injuries. Bright refused treatment but was taken to Canonsburg Hospital as a precaution. The road was closed for about 90 minutes.
Criminal mischief: Someone in a dark-colored SUV pulled up in front of a house in the 500 block of Cortland Drive in Finleyville on Saturday and damaged a mailbox with a baseball bat, police said.
Endangerment charge: Robert Richard Smith, 42, of 321 Cypress St., Rostraver, was charged Monday by Rostraver police with six counts of reckless endangerment stemming from a March 8 incident at his home. The charges were filed at the office of District Judge Charles Christner.
Retail theft charge: Christina Rugman, 40, of 330 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, was charged Monday by Rostraver police with retail theft stemming from a March 6 incident at Walmart, Sara Way. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge Joseph Dalfonso.
Drug charge: Joseph Robert Leighty, 30, of Herminie, was charged Monday by Rostraver police with possession of heroin and paraphernalia stemming from a March 6 incident at Finley Road at Crawford Lane. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Charles Christner.
Charged in crash: Leonard H. Cole, 66, of 106 Lantern Lane, West Newton, was charged Monday by Rostraver police with driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving and driving on the wrong side of the road stemming from a two-vehicle crash Wednesday on Rehobeth Road. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Charles Christner.
Tire slashed: Michael Jobes of South Strabane told township police Friday a tire on his vehicle was slashed. The vehicle was parked in the lot of Lowe’s, Strabane Square, while he was working.
Warrant arrest: Nathaniel Tomczak, 32, of Coraopolis, was taken into custody Friday on an Allegheny County bench warrant by South Strabane police. He was placed in Washington County jail.
Guns stolen: Debra Ruffing told South Strabane police Friday two 20-gauge shotguns were stolen from her father’s Gina Drive home. She had no other information on the weapons.
Items stolen: Stacey Prewitt of Washington told Washington police bank cards and other items were stolen from her vehicle while it was parked in the lot of Shop ‘n Save, 125 W. Beau St., Friday.
Vehicle damaged: Mischele Fuqua of 670 Maple Terrace told Washington police Friday the hood of her vehicle was damaged by vandals.
Endangerment charge: Christopher Ward, 36, of 2827 Wilson St., North Franklin Township, will be charged by Washington police with reckless endangerment after he allegedly fired several shots from a weapon about 4 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of North Main Street. He had been attending a party at 335 N. Main. Police said they found the gun hidden in a crawlspace.
Residence burglarized: Brittany Ellis of the 500 block of West Chestnut Street told Washington police Sunday a cellphone, safe, jewelry, money, medication, PlayStation 3, television and DVD player were stolen when her residence was burglarized.
Roof damaged: Lloyd Booker of 926 Addison St. told Washington police Sunday vandals damaged the roof of his residence.
Window broken: Edwina Hoberek of 158 Hall Ave. told Washington police Sunday a window in her garage was broken.
Vehicle entered: Tiara Williams of 105 Hall Ave. told Washington police Sunday two men broke into her vehicle, stealing a diaper bag and purse.
Escape charges: Charles Melvin Caesar IV, 41, of 17 Murtland Ave., faces charges of escape, resisting arrest, terroristic threats, aggravated assault and simple assault stemming from a Feb. 18 incident in which he allegedly fled probation officers trying to apprehend him, Washington police said.
