The League of Women Voters of Washington County and the American Democracy Project at California University of Pennsylvania will host a candidates forum at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the north wing of the Convocation Center, on the Cal U. campus.

At this nonpartisan forum, voters can hear from both Democratic and Republican candidates vying to represent the 49th Legislative District in the state House of Representatives.

All registered candidates seeking their party’s nomination in the April 26 primary election have been invited to participate. The candidates hope to succeed state Rep. Peter J. Daley, D-California, who is retiring after 17 terms in office.

Cal U. students from the American Democracy Project and Cal Campaign Consultants will conduct a voter registration drive in conjunction with the candidates forum. Admission to the candidates forum is free; area residents are invited to attend. Visitor parking will be available. For more information and a list of invited candidates, visit www.calu.edu.
