Intermittent lane closures at Chartiers intersection
An intermittent single lane closure will occur at the intersection of Pike Street and Country Club Road in Chartiers Township, the state Department of Transportation announced. Motorists will encounter intermittent day and nighttime lane closures while the project progresses. Work begins Thursday with a tentative completion date of Sept. 29.
Restrictions will be in place to allow crews to perform drainage, milling, guide rail, signal and other miscellaneous construction. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers.
The project involves the widening of Pike Street Country Club Road to both provide turning lanes and improve the turning radius for trucks. The project will also replace the existing traffic signal and the at-grade railroad crossing. The contractor on this $2.1 million job is Frank Gavlik & Sons, Inc.
