WAYNESBURG – A Cumberland Township man was sentenced Tuesday to 3 to 10 years in prison for more than 70 charges related to sexual relationships he had with two teenage girls.

Brandon M. Dawson, 20, of 215 Glade Run Road, plead guilty in September to 12 counts each of indecent assault of a person less than 16 years of age, corruption of minors, aggravated indecent assault, statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor and eight counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse in the case involving a 13-year-old girl.

He also pleaded guilty in October to two counts of corruption of a minor for his relationship with a 15-year-old girl.

The charges, filed in April 2015, related to the sexual relationships he had with the two teenage girls between September 2014 and January 2015. Greene County Assistant District Attorney Christina DeMarco said the victims were not related.

One of the victims was in court with her family Tuesday and made friendly gestures to Dawson as he walked in, but did not speak during the sentencing.

The charges were filed by Cumberland Township police, who said Dawson admitted to having sex with the 13-year-old on at least two occasions and engaging in sex acts with her six to eight times.

When police interviewed her in February 2015, she told Cumberland police Chief Craig Miller she and Dawson dated for a month and that she was pregnant, according to court documents.

According to the criminal complaint, the 13-year-old told police she did not want Dawson to get in trouble and was concerned he wouldn’t get to see his child if he went to jail.

Miller said Dawson engaged in sex acts with the 15-year-old girl on two occasions in early 2015.

Greene County President Judge Farley Toothman also sentenced Dawson to three years of probation, 125 hours of community service and ordered to pay a $750 fine. He was also ordered not to have any contact with either victim and will have a lifetime registration as a Megan’s Law sex offender.

He was given credit for about 10 months served in the Greene County jail since his arrest last April.
