No injuries in Washington fire
No injuries were reported Thursday as a fire erupted in the first floor of the Interfaith Hospitality Network group home at 297 E. Beau St., Washington.
Washington fire Chief Linn Brookman said a woman called 911 around 4 p.m. to report a fire had started near a window and that she was dousing it with water. The fire was extinguished within 10 minutes of fire crews arriving.
A woman at the scene who identified herself only as Crystal said she called 911 and helped safely evacuate the 16 people inside. The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation.
