State police released a photograph of the man who robbed the PNC Bank branch in Carmichaels at gunpoint Wednesday afternoon.

The suspect is described by state police as a black man, standing about 5-foot-11 and weighing about 200 pounds.

The photograph pulled from surveillance footage video shows him wearing a white, long-sleeved shirt with a dark hood underneath and black, loose-fitting pants. He also had a purple bandanna covering his face.

Police said the man pointed a black handgun at tellers about 12:30 p.m. and demanded cash. He left the bank moments later with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

Police said he left the scene in a white, newer-model Chevrolet Malibu that a witness said was parked about a block from the bank.

Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 724-627-6151.
