UNIONTOWN – A Pennsylvania couple was jailed in the starvation death of their 23-month-old daughter, who weighed just 10 pounds.

Twenty-six-year-old Andrea Dusha and 32-year-old Michael Wright Jr. were charged Thursday with criminal homicide and endangerment charges in the death of Lydia Wright.

An autopsy determined the girl died of dehydration and malnutrition. Fayette County caseworkers took two siblings into custody.

Police believe the little girl was left in her car seat for hours at time in a squalid Uniontown home.

Police said Lydia was in a car seat from 9 p.m. Feb. 23 until 10:30 the next morning, when Dusha tried to give the girl a drink but noticed she was foaming at the mouth.

Dusha drove the girl to a hospital where she died.

Online court records don’t list defense attorneys.
