Careless driving charge: State police cited Brian D. Taylor, 29, of Clarksville, for careless driving after they said he crashed into the back of a car parked on Route 188 in Jefferson Borough about 1:45 a.m. Friday.

Prohibited acts charges: Nevin Lee Mitchell, 28, of 225 Herrods Run Road, New Freeport, was charged last week by Waynesburg police for an incident that happened last June in which officers responded to 163 W. Elm St. for the report of a man in a hospital gown sitting on the front porch while using narcotics. Mitchell was charged with two counts of prohibited acts because he allegedly was in possession of drug paraphernalia and prescription drugs he did not have a prescription for, police said. He also was charged with disorderly conduct, public drunkenness, tampering with evidence and recklessly endangering another because he allegedly hid a loaded syringe among children’s toys when he saw police approach, court documents said.
