WAYNESBURG – A number of criminal defendants pleaded guilty last week before Greene County Judge Louis Dayich.

Ralph Earnest Martin Jr., 35, of 252 Second Ave., Waynesburg; offenses – two counts of retail theft; nine counts possession of drug paraphernalia; Nov. 25, he was arrested for stealing $14.25 worth of items from Family Dollar in Waynesburg, he was in possession of five syringes, three spoons and a smoking device; Dec. 2, he was arrested for stealing $82.11 worth of items from Walmart in Franklin Township; sentence – 30 days to 23 ½ months in jail, credit for time served since Dec. 2; $100 fine, 240 hours of community service.

Patrick J. Corwin, 54, of 153 Fox Road, Carmichaels; offenses – driving under the influence of alcohol, second offense, and two summary traffic violations; arrested July 10, Corwin had a blood-alcohol content level of .233 percent; sentence – following preparation of a pre-sentence report.

Dominique Orlando Cage, 20, of 231 Second St., Clarksville; offenses – burglary, theft, criminal mischief; on Oct. 8, 2014, Cage stole two guitars and an amplifier from a house in Pit Gas, Jefferson Township, and sold them at pawn shops; sentencing – following preparation of a pre-sentence report.

Brian Lynn Ross, 57, of 50803 Mellott Ridge Road, Beallsville, Ohio; offenses – DUI and a summary violation; arrested Aug. 22, after his motorcycle ran into the rear of another motorcycle on Route 188 in Jefferson Township, Ross had a BAC of .134 percent; sentence – 48 hours to 6 months in jail, $525 in fines, 65 hours of community service.

Althanase Petropoulos, 76, of 1219 Kelton Ave., Dormont; offenses – possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, conspiracy; on Sept. 12, 2014, state police found 92 marijuana plants being grown on his farm off Pyle Road in Morgan Township; sentence – 5 years of probation, $2,000 fine; the order noted Petropoulos is bed ridden and terminally ill; the plea was conducted by video.

Lisa Ann Martin, 32, of 77 C St., Teagarden Homes, Clarksville; offenses – receiving stolen property; on June 11, Martin was found in possession of two jars of change that were earlier stolen from a home in Teagarden Homes; sentence – 3 years of probation, restitution, 75 hours of community service.

Matthew Blair Bernardini, 34, an inmate at the state Correctional Institution at Greene; offense – contraband, controlled substance; on April 15, Bernardini was observed swallowing two balloons during a visit with a relative; the balloons contains Suboxine strips; sentence – 2 to 4 years in prison concurrent to his current sentence, $100 fine; Bernardini is currently serving 3 to 6 years for a Feb. 2014 conviction in Allegheny County for possession of a weapon with an altered serial number, recklessly endangering another person and other charges, according to online court records.

Kristin Maria Mull, 26, of 84 W. Wheeling St., Washington; offenses – access device fraud, conspiracy, theft; on April 12, Mull stole an ATM card from a home in Morgan Township and used it to purchase a $200 gift card; sentence – 5 years in the county intermediate punishment program, with the first six month in house arrest with electronic monitoring or in a residential treatment program; $100 fine, restitution, 150 hours of community service.

Ashlee Magdalena Chantel Kniha, 29, of 428 Fourth St., Waynesburg; offenses – two counts each forgery and theft; on July 16, Kniha stole two checks and cashed them for 1,037.56 at a grocery store; sentence – time served, from Jan. 4, to 23 ½ months in jail; restitution.

Dustin Franklin Virgili, 26, of 51 Short St., Mather; offenses – three cases; two counts each of burglary and criminal trespass, three counts of theft; on Dec. 19, 2014, Virgili stole an off-road vehicle and other items from a garage on First Street in Morgan Township; on May 23, 2015, he attempted to steal a chain saw from a garage at another First Street home; and on July 15, he stole an ATV from a home on Pollocks Mill Road; sentence – 9 months to 6 years in prison; credit for time served from Sept. 30 and eligible for the Recidivism Risk Reduction Incentive Program, which could reduce his minimum to 6 months; $997.46 in restitution.
