Police beat March 22
Two face charges: Jesse Alexander Flament, 24, of Charleroi, and Michael Flament, 28, of Monongahela, will be charged by California police with criminal trespass after they were reportedly found March 15 on Baker Mine property on Vesta Road. Police said the mine operator recently reported several thefts of scrap metal.
Disorderly house charges: Kendall Lee Gibson, 18, of Grindstone; Marcus Alan Maines, 22, of Uniontown; Emily Morgan Peton, 19, of Brownsville; and Steven Michael Walker, 19, of New Salem, all face charges stemming from a Feb. 20 incident at 414 Green St., California police said. Police were called to the house for a report of a loud party. Gibson and Peton will be charged with underage drinking. Maines will be charged with violating the borough’s disorderly house ordinance. Walker is charged with underage drinking and violating the disorderly house ordinance.
Dryer fire: Canonsburg police and firefighters were called about 8 p.m. Sunday to Snowy White Laundry, 148 W. Pike St., for a dryer fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire and cleared smoke from the business.
Tires slashed: Gary Ransic of Canonsburg told Canonsburg police the tires on his vehicle were slashed while the vehicle was parked early Sunday outside Last Call Bar and Grill, 342 W. Pike St. He said two men came into the bar just after 2 a.m. and were angry because the bartender refused to serve them because it was after hours. After causing a scene, they went outside and cut the tires, he told police.
Boy found: Canonsburg police contacted Washington County Children and Youth Services after a young boy was found wandering on South Central Avenue wearing only pajamas about noon Sunday. The boy told police he did not know where he lived, but was able to direct them to his grandfather’s house on Park Avenue. Police said the grandfather appeared disheveled when he answered the door and told police he drank about eight beers the previous night. CYS is investigating, and police may file charges pending the outcome of the investigation.
Theft arrest: Bryan K. Baker, 23, of 160 Shearer Road, Fayette City, was arrested Saturday by Carroll police on charges of theft, possession of a controlled substance and public drunkenness. Police received calls from residents in the 100 block of Route 837 of a man going door to door asking for money, claiming he had run out of gas. The man, identified as Baker, also allegedly tried to steal a lawn mower. Police said he had Clonazepam pills on him when he was apprehended. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Two hurt: Two people were hurt in a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon on Avella Road near Atlasburg Road, Cross Creek. State police said a van driven by Matthew McCutchan, 37, of Cuddy, was going east when it passed another vehicle and collided with a westbound vehicle driven by Samantha Cheramie, 37, of Avella. Police said Cheramie swerved in an attempt to avoid the crash. Her vehicle traveled 50 feet before overturning on its roof. A 16-year-old girl who was a passenger in her vehicle and McCutchan were taken to Washington Hospital for treatment.
Truck into creek: Ian Hess, 16, of 1243 Lindenvue Road, North Strabane, escaped injury Sunday morning when the pickup truck he was driving went off the 100 block of Wilson Road, hit a tree, went over a hill and landed on the driver’s side in a creek, North Strabane police said.
Retail theft arrest: Jeremy Nicholson, 44, of McKeesport, was arrested Sunday on a warrant obtained by Peters police after he allegedly went into Kmart, Washington Road, twice on Feb. 19 and stole items. The first time he allegedly stole a sound system. He returned about 20 minutes later and allegedly stole a television. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward on two counts of retail theft and placed in Washington County jail on a $5,000 percentage bond.
Ring missing: A resident of the 100 block of Driftwood Drive in McMurray told police Saturday she was missing a diamond ring valued at $45,000.
Assault alleged: Daniel Jordan, 34, of 1222 Thelma St., Pittsburgh, faces a charge of simple assault following an alleged hours-long assault of a woman Sunday at 564 W. Chestnut Street in which the victim lost consciousness and had to be taken to a hospital, Washington police said.
Assault charges: Edsol Borger and Shawn Burnett, no ages or addresses listed, face charges of simple assault after they allegedly jumped Kevin Knox, 33, of Washington, as he was walking along Addison Street Friday. Knox suffered a broken nose, Washington police said.
Burglary: Clayton Hanning Jr., 65, of 185 Larchwood Drive, New Galilee, reported a lawnmower stolen from a residence he was working on Friday at 311 Tyler Ave., Washington police said.
Theft charge: Shawn Bradley, 25, of 112 Stone Lonesome Road, Fairmont W.Va., faces a theft charge for allegedly stealing a cellphone left on the pharmacy counter Friday at The Medicine Shoppe on Jefferson Avenue, Washington police said.
Burglary: The Uni-Mart at 500 S. Main St. was reported burglarized Friday. Someone broke in and stole hundreds of lottery tickets and $15, Washington police said.
Drug charges: Joshua David Thweat, 35, faces a drug possession charge in connection with an incident March 11 in which he allegedly was found with a hypodermic needle and spoon on Duncan Avenue.
Assault, drug charges: Troy Sutton Ethridge, 28, of 1192 Maple Terrace, faces a charge of simple assault, a charge of harassment and two charges of drug possession in connection with an alleged Dec. 2 attack on Sam Kusaj, no address listed, as the two argued over money. Police said they later found Ethridge with marijuana and unidentified pills.
