Police beat March 23
Threat charge: William B. Thomas, 60, of 155½ W. Pike St., Canonsburg, was charged last week with terroristic threats, harassment and disorderly conduct. He is accused of pounding his fist on a vehicle driven by a woman who was taking her child to Head Start at Valley View Terrace earlier this month. Thomas allegedly yelled obscenities. Charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Warrant arrest: Richard Mandus, 33, of Oakdale, was arrested Tuesday by state police on a warrant obtained by Pittsburgh police stemming from a Nov. 8 incident in Pittsburgh’s Strip District. Mandus is charged with aggravated assault for allegedly hitting a man. He was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County jail for five days until he can be picked up by Allegheny County authorities.
Threat arrest: Robert F. Abel, 39, of Washington, was arrested Monday by state police on charges of terroristic threats, harassment and disorderly conduct. He is accused of threatening to kill a Canton man and his family. The alleged victim said he had taken his dog outside his Weirich Avenue home when Abel made the threats. Abel is reportedly living in the woods behind the victim’s residence, police said. He was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Nurse assaulted: Mellisa Garza, 43, of 71 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, was charged with aggravated assault, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness, court records show. Garza is accused of striking a Mon Valley Hospital nurse in the chin, causing her to fall backward onto a floor in a restroom in the emergency department about 4 a.m. March 13, according to the documents filed Friday at the office of District Judge Mark Wilson.
Paraphernalia case: Mark P. Daube, 52, of 2304 Walch St., Carroll Township, was charged with hindering and possession of drug paraphernalia over accusations he had empty heroin stamp bags and tried to hide one of them when an officer approached his vehicle to see why it was parked on private property in the 200 block of Route 837 about 6:40 p.m. March 13, according to court records filed Friday at the office of District Judge Mark Wilson. Daube is in Washington County jail on a probation violation.
Woman assaulted: Melanie Marody, 26, of 225 Spring St., Bentleyville, is charged by township police via summons with aggravated assault and harassment over allegations she choked a woman in Mon Valley Hospital’s emergency department about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, court records show.
Game players stolen: Matt Khanolka of 333 Forrest Ave. told police Monday two Sony Playstations, 20 games and two controllers were stolen from his home.
Endangerment charges: Elizabeth L. Bailey, 27, of Houston, was charged with two counts of reckless endangerment after she reportedly sat down in the middle of Country Club Road at Barnickle Street earlier this month. Police said she was almost struck by a vehicle and endangered two of her caregivers who tried to get her off the road. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Theft arrest: Gregory S. Shultz, 32, of Johnstown, was arrested Monday by North Franklin police on charges of retail theft and theft after he allegedly stole three scope mounts valued at $190 from Gander Mountain, Washington Crown Center. He was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
Charged in stop: William A. Harmison, 46, of Washington, was charged by state police with violating the ignition interlock requirement and an equipment violation stemming from a March 10 traffic stop on West Chestnut at Atlas Street, North Franklin. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Theft charge: Crystal Lynn Hall, 35, of 1017 Main St., Republic, was charged Tuesday with retail theft stemming from an incident Saturday at Walmart, 100 Sara Way. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge Joseph Dalfonso.
Assault charge: Morgan Iona Diggs, 26, of 327 Matthews Road, was charged with simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief stemming from a domestic dispute at her home Sunday. The charges were filed at the office of District Judge Joseph Dalfonso.
Vehicle damaged: Adam Wiszczor of 117 Moger Drive told police his vehicle was scratched while it was parked on the street in front of his home.
Charged three times: Ryan Fonner, 23, of 595½ Maple Ave., faces two counts of disorderly conduct and one count of harassment stemming from three separate incidents early Tuesday. Police were called about 2 a.m. when his neighbor reported loud music. Police said they heard music blasting and indicated Fonner was intoxicated. About an hour later, police were called back to his home after he reportedly punched out a window. He was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment of a bloody hand. Police were then called to the hospital after he allegedly became disruptive with the staff in the emergency room.
Purse stolen: Rita Zimmerman of 812 Beech St. told police Monday her purse containing her wallet, credit cards and identification was stolen from her vehicle.
Harassment charges: Melissa Huntington, 32, and Dorian E. Wallace, 29, both of 308 Lincoln Terrace, Washington, will be charged with harassment after an alleged fight Monday at Highland and Burton avenues. Huntington is accused of hitting Jodi Smith, 35, of Chartiers Township in the face and pushing her. Wallace is accused of knocking Joshua Jimenez, 31, also of Chartiers, to the ground.
