Police Beat March 24
Theft arrest: Tara N. Johnson, 37, of 240 N. College St., Washington, was arrested Wednesday by state police on a theft charge. She is accused of stealing a two-and-a-half-gallon gasoline can from outside 72 Hawkins St., Canton, on Oct. 17. She was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County jail on $2,500 bond.
Car theft: Karen Brewer, 30, of 225 Linden Ave., Monessen, is charged by state police with theft and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, court records show. A criminal complaint filed Tuesday with District Judge Larry Hopkins accuses Brewer of renting a car March 16 from Enterprise at 17 Route 88 and failing to return it when it was due back.
Drug case: Lamont W. Johnson, 23, of 31 Angerer Road, Canonsburg, is wanted by Monessen police on charges of marijuana possession and carrying a firearm without a license, court records show. Police accuse Johnson of having a bag of marijuana and a 0.40-caliber handgun in his vehicle when it was seized about 12:10 a.m. Feb. 20 from Fifth Street and Schoonmaker Avenue.
Heroin charges: Kailey E. Crouse, 23, of 11 Columbus Drive, Monessen, was charged Tuesday by city police with possessing seven stamp bags of heroin and drug paraphernalia when an officer was sent to 10 Donner Ave. about 8:45 p.m. March 17 to investigate a disturbance, court records show. Crouse, who will receive the charges via summons from District Judge Joseph Dalfonso, allegedly admitted to police that she had used the drug that day while pregnant. A man who was in a car with her at the time, Christopher Davin, 33, of Canonsburg, was charged with possessing 27 stamp bags of heroin, court records show. He was released from Westmoreland County jail after posting his $5,000 bond set by Dalfonso.
DUI alleged in crash: Kaitlyn J. Summers, 22, of McKeesport, is charged by city police with driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving and accidents involving property damage, court records show. Police accuse her of purposely crashing her car into a utility pole in the 300 block of Knox Avenue about 1 a.m. Sunday. Police found Summers and her damaged car at 326 Knox Ave. She will receive the charges via summons from District Judge Joseph Dalfonso.
Unauthorized use: Bobbie Jo Deems, 28, of 1436 Walnut Ave., Monessen, is charged by city police with unauthorized use of her father’s car over allegations she drove off from the residence with it about 12:15 a.m. March 16 and refused to return it to him, court records show.
Charged in crash: Ashley N. Mohr, 32, of 251 Hooks Lane, Canonsburg, faces a charge of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after she allegedly crashed her vehicle into the back of another vehicle Tuesday night on West Chestnut Street. Washington police said Mohr told officers she had taken Xanax and Percocet. Police said they found prescription medication loose in her purse. She was taken to Washington Hospital, where blood was drawn.
Lock box damaged: Frank Hammond of Brownsville told Washington police Tuesday that a key lock box was broken on his rental property on Allison Avenue.
