The state police fire marshal was called to investigate the cause of a fire that destroyed a barn Thursday in Nottingham Township.

No one was injured in the fire that leveled the barn at Furda’s Rolling Green Acres farm along Route 136, Valley Inn Fire Chief John Curcio said at the scene.

He said Dave Spinnenweber didn’t notice “anything out of order” when he saw the smoke while working in a field about 5:30 p.m.

The barn, which contained some farming equipment, was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at the farm, Curcio said.

Route 136 was closed to traffic while firefighters were on the scene.

Firefighters from Bentleyville, Ellsworth, Finleyville and North Strabane Township assisted Valley Inn in dousing the blaze.
