A 19-year-old Washington High School student was arrested Wednesday by Washington police after he allegedly sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl in a storage room at the school the previous day.

D’Andre Graffinread, 19, of 766 Ewing St., Washington, was arraigned before District Judge David Mark on charges of statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault.

Graffinread and the girl reportedly walked into the auxiliary gym at the high school about 11:25 a.m. Tuesday, went into a storage room and started to talk. He then asked the girl to come close to him. Graffinread allegedly started sucking on the girl’s neck, police said. The 14-year-old reportedly told him to stop and pushed him away.

Graffinread allegedly grabbed the girl’s arm and pushed her head down, then pulled down his pants and forced her to engage in oral sex, police said.

The incident reportedly stopped when the bell rang to go to the next class, and the two left the gym, police said.

On Wednesday, the high school staff looked into why the two had been out of their assigned area. Graffinread allegedly admitted to Paul Kostelnik, high school principal, and Darren Vaccaro, dean of students, what happened the previous day and gave a written statement. Police said Graffinread told them he thought the girl was 16.

Graffinread was placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond. He faces an April 5 preliminary hearing before District Judge Robert Redlinger.
