Police beat March 26
Plates painted: State police said vandals used red spray paint on license plates on several vehicles parked Thursday along Rural Valley and Foster roads in Buffalo Township. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-223-5200.
Machine entered: A member of the Chartiers Youth Soccer Association told Chartiers police Thursday a soft drink machine was broken into at their field on Country Club Road and about $95 in drinks were stolen.
Warrant arrest: Sally Schwartz, 38, of 31 Gleba Acres Lane, was taken into custody Thursday by North Strabane police on a bench warrant issued by Judge Gary Gilman. The request for the warrant was made after she failed to appear for a preliminary hearing in December before District Judge Jay Weller on theft charges filed by North Strabane police. Schwartz was held for court in her absence. She was placed in Washington County jail on the warrant.
Vehicle damaged: Danny Beyerl of Valencia told Washington police Thursday his son, Shawn Beyerl, who was arrested for violating a protection-from-abuse order earlier in the day, asked him to retrieve his vehicle from 153 Elm St. The father said a window on the vehicle had been smashed.
