The state Department of Aging will hold a community forum from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at California University Convocation Center, south wing, 250 University Ave., California.

The contributions received during the forum will be woven into the existing framework of the state plan on aging and will enable the department to create the next draft, which covers October 2016 through September 2020.

The plan addresses how the department will protect and empower older Pennsylvanians so they can age in place with dignity and respect.

The forum will provide concerned citizens the opportunity to tell leadership from the Department of Aging what they think about the programs and services the department provides – are they benefitting older Pennsylvanians, or are they not effective; what they think is being done well or what needs to be improved. Consumers of services, family members, advocates and professional provider of aging services are encouraged to attend.

Those unable to attend the forum can complete a brief survey at www.aging.pa.gov or email stateplanonaging@pa.gov or call 717-783-6128.
