Monthly electronics recycling event slated
The Washington County Planning Commission will host electronics recycling from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Washington County Fairgrounds, Exhibit Hall 1, 2151 N. Main St., Washington.
Cars will not be served until 2:30 p.m. so participants arriving early will be asked to leave until the event begins. Chartiers police will be patrolling the area. Because of the overwhelming response at previous events, if the line of vehicles extends onto Main Street participants are asked to return after 15 minutes for safety reasons. Estimated wait time for those arriving at 2:30 p.m is one hour, and 20 minutes for those arriving at 4 p.m.
Eligible items include computer monitors, towers and bases, mice, keyboards and speakers, printers and televisions. There is a limit of one TV per car. Fluorescent light tubes and compact fluorescent lights will be accepted at a charge of $1 each. Freon appliances will be accepted with a freon removal fee of $15.
