Monessen man shot twice in Charleroi

A Saturday night shooting in Charleroi that sent a 25-year-old man to a Pittsburgh hospital is under investigation by police.

Marcus Brandon Johnson, of 317 Indiana Ave., Monessen, was shot twice as he walked toward a house in the 400 block of Fifth Street in Charleroi about 11:30 p.m. After he was hit, Johnson ran from the scene and was found on the ground in the 400 block of Fallowfield Avenue, according to Eric Porter, the chief of Charleroi Regional police.

Johnson told police he did not know who shot him. When police went to the house where the shots were allegedly fired, they did not find anyone there.

Johnson was struck in the right calf and left hand. He was flown to UPMC-Presbyterian hospital. His condition was not available Sunday afternoon.
