Bar cited: The operators of Handle Bar and Grill, 342 W. Pike St., were cited last week by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for allegedly operating gambling devices or permitting gambling or bookmaking on the premises April 19.

Vehicle hits pole: Tamara Bates, 19, of 414 Greenside Ave., escaped injury early Friday, but her passenger, Quadysha Oakley, 20, also of 414 Greenside, sustained a nose injury when Bates’ vehicle crashed head-on into a utility pole at the intersection of Pike and Fifth streets, Meadow Lands, Chartiers police said. Bates told police the steering wheel locked. Oakley was treated at the scene.

Student faces charge: A student at Western Area Career and Technology Center from Peters Township faces a theft charge after he allegedly stole money from the cafeteria. The theft was reported Thursday.

Three-vehicle accident: Two vehicles were towed following a three-vehicle accident at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the 100 block of East McMurray Road, police said. According to reports, Thomas Tallant, 74, of Canton, Ga., was in the westbound lane and stopped at a traffic light. Matt Meola, 18, of McMurray, was also westbound, but failed to stop and pushed a vehicle driven by Calleigh McCluskey, 17, of McMurray, into Tallant’s vehicle. Vehicles driven by Meola and McCluskey were towed.

Alleged probation violation: Smith Township police said they took a loaded revolver from the residence of Paul Bartoletti, 20, of 64 Bavington Road, on May 13. According to the report, Bartoletti, who is on probation and not allowed to be in possession of a gun, shot a firearm in his backyard May 12 in violation of state law and township ordinances. Probation officers transported Bartoletti to the jail in Jefferson County, Ohio, where he is facing other charges.

Forgery, theft charges: Tammilee Crow, 33, of 426 Fourth Ave., Langeloth, was charged with forgery, access device fraud and theft after she allegedly used a stolen credit card to make about $2,000 in purchases at various businesses, South Strabane police said. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Mischief charge: Clifford M. VanKirk, III, 21, of 415 W. Maiden St., was charged Friday by Washington police with criminal mischief after he allegedly did $1,762 in damage to a vehicle owned by Dawn McCracken during an April 26 incident. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Transmitter stolen: Eric Sadler of 705 Broad St. told police a transmitter was stolen from his unlocked car while it was parked near his home.

Trespass charge: Christopher Martin, 43, of 84 E. Maiden St., will be charged with criminal trespass and having an open container of alcohol after police said he was found drinking beer in a parked van in a fenced area at 275 Meadow Ave. Police said he had been warned about being at the location earlier in the week. He did not own the van.

ATV stolen: State police said an orange and white Polaris RZR was stolen Monday from a shed off Barr Run Road, West Bethlehem. The vehicle had a torn seat covered with tape and a metal tag on the passenger grab bar. It also had Maxxis Bighorn tires. Anyone with information is asked to call trooper Joseph Pokorny at 724-223-5200.

Theft arrest: Raul Gonzales Delgado III, 39, of 620 Lewis St., Brownsville, was arrested Thursday by state police on a charge of retail theft for allegedly stealing a rice cooker and cookware set with a total value of $208 from Walmart, West Brownsville. He was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
