Start date delayed for Route 21 intersection realignment
The contractor in charge realigning the Route 21 intersection at the Greene County Airport entrance has pushed back the start date a week.
Construction crews now plan to begin working on the project Tuesday, May 31, to realign Route 21 at Murtha Drive to convert it into a four-way intersection with the airport.
Greene County Chief Clerk Jeff Marshall said work was supposed to begin this week, but the contractor, A. Folino Construction Inc., notified him Tuesday that it would be better for construction to start after the Memorial Day weekend.
The project is expected to be completed within six months. There could be periodic lane shifts during construction, Marshall said, although traffic will be kept moving in both directions.
