Pennsylvania American Water customers are invited to tour its Aldrich Water Treatment Plant from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 12. Visitors will learn where their drinking water comes from and how the water is treated and tested. They also will have the opportunity to talk with the company’s local management team and water quality professionals.

“Our Aldrich team delivers approximately 40 million gallons of award-winning drinking water each day to our customers in southern Allegheny and northern Washington counties,” said Pennsylvania American Water Operations Superintendent Sam Taylor.

The free tours are for all ages and will be conducted primarily outdoors with the exception of the indoor treatment facilities and will include several flights of stairs as well as walking over grated catwalks.

Members of the public who plan to attend should wear sturdy, closed-toed footwear and be comfortable standing, walking and occasionally climbing stairs for approximately 45 minutes. Free refreshments and gifts will be provided and restrooms will be available.

Interested visitors should RSVP by Nov. 10 on the Pennsylvania American Water Facebook page (www.facebook.com/pennsylvaniaamwater) under the events tab for the Aldrich Water Treatment Plant open house.

The plant is at 60 Elrama Avenue, Elrama. Attendees must provide valid photo identification to enter the treatment plant property.
