The weekend is over, sadly, and we hope you’ve got all your clocks set back for Daylight Savings Time! In case you’ve missed some of the news the Observer-Reporter staff reported on over the weekend, we have compiled a list of the top five stories to catch you up on everything that’s going on in the area.

A Carmichaels woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Friday night on Route 21. State police said Heather Renee Whyel, 25, died after being ejected from her car when it collided with a pickup truck about 10:35 p.m. The other driver, Thomas I. Bennett, 59, of Lemont Furnace suffered minor injuries, and he was treated at WHS-Greene hospital, police said.

Donora neighbors said Saturday a bloody assault took place early that morning outside of their residences during a brawl involving as many as 30 people after they poured out of a local bar. Resident Kevin Smith said a man was reportedly stabbed repeatedly about 1:15 a.m. after he was thrown onto a vehicle parked outside of Chubs Pub at 107 Castner Ave.

A Morgantown, W.Va., woman accused of stealing more than $22,000 from the East Dunkard Water Authority was found not guilty by Greene County Judge Lou Dayich following a nonjury trial Tuesday. Laura A. Pugh, 40, who worked at the authority for 19 years in customer billing, was charged by state police in January with theft and receiving stolen property. In an order issued Friday, Dayich said he was swayed by testimony of Charles Rupert, a witness for the prosecution, who was hired by the authority to perform an audit after the authority became aware of a possible theft.

Hilary Hahn, a former McMurray resident, appeared on ABC’s TV show “Shark Tank” on Friday. On the show, she pitched her business The Style Club, fashion brand that, she says, “caters to Gen X females – basically junior teens. We’re a young QVC for our generation.” The Style Club strives to produce items that are outside the mainstream, including suede baseball caps and bomber jackets with empowering messages.
