Police beat Nov. 9
Bar cited: The state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement cited the operator of Jay’s Tavern, 1885 Main St., Allenport, for allowing gambling or gambling devices on the property 17 times between October 2015 and Sept. 21.
Driver charged: Vanessa Jean Beatty, 26, of 826 Frederick Court, Canonsburg, was charged Tuesday by state police with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to stay in her lane, failure to drive at a safe speed and careless and reckless driving in connection with an Oct. 14 crash at the intersection of Vankirk Ridge and Amity Ridge roads, Amwell. Police said her vehicle crashed and came to rest on the passenger side. They said her blood-alcohol content was more than three times the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
Charged in crash: Harley David Miller, 20, of 33 Nutter Road, Washington, was charged Tuesday by state police with driving under the influence of alcohol, minor under the influence of alcohol, underage drinking and several traffic violations stemming from a Sept. 30 crash on Route 40 near Coffeys Crossing Road, Buffalo. Police said his pickup truck went off the road and went into a ditch. They said his blood-alcohol content was almost four times the 0.02 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed for drivers under the age of 21. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
Several injured: Canonsburg police said two drivers and four passengers were injured in an Oct. 16 head-on crash at Perry Como Street and Dogwood Alley. Police said a vehicle driven by Austin D. Jones, 17, of 1006 Coldstream Drive, Canonsburg, pulled from Dogwood, striking a vehicle driven by Kera Long, 40, of 619 Franklin Ave., Canonsburg, causing her to veer into a utility pole. Jones and four teenagers in his vehicle were injured but did not seek treatment. Long was taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment. The report was completed last week.
Faces charges: Joseph Kovac IV, 34, of North Huntingdon, faces drug charges after police say he reportedly overdosed at a residence in the 200 block of East College Street Monday night. The resident said Kovac came to visit and went into the bathroom, where he apparently used heroin, police said. Narcan was used to revive him. Police said they found five stamp bags of suspected heroin in his pocket and also found a syringe.
Truck damaged: Jerrick Caldwell of 412 Blaine Ave. told Canonsburg police Monday that a window was broken on his truck-tractor while it was parked on Adams Avenue.
Jewelry stolen: Ben Igles of San Antonio, Texas, told Chartiers police Monday that jewelry was stolen from 222 Liekar Lane. He discovered the theft after unpacking his belongings after moving from Chartiers to Texas.
Assault charge: Tylor Carmen Caliguiri, 22, of 512 Rocky Run Road, West Finley, was charged Tuesday by state police with simple assault and harassment after he allegedly assaulted a 56-year-old woman at an East Finley home on Sept. 26. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
Threats alleged: Percy Alonzo Davis, 46, of 468 Motheral Ave., Monessen, is charged by city police with making terroristic threats and harassment over allegations he threatened to kill Bethany Altomore Nov. 3 and 4 at a residence in the 900 block of Grant Avenue, court records show. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso issued the charges in a summons Monday.
Woman charged: Karen Marie Brewer, 30, of 225 Linden Ave., Monessen, is charged by city police with possessing three stamp bags of heroin and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop about 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of Knox Avenue, court records show. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso issued a warrant Monday for Brewer’s arrest.
Drug case: Daniel Raymond Hornak, 51, of 331 Third St., Monessen, is charged by city police with drug possession with intent to deliver, criminal conspiracy and drug possession, court records show. Police accuse Hornak of selling 11 stamp bags of heroin to Jacob James Martin, 27, of Markleyville, who allegedly was found with the drugs during a traffic stop about 4:45 p.m. Sept. 23 in the 800 block of Donner Avenue. Martin is charged with drug possession, conspiracy and possession of drug paraphernalia over the alleged drug deal that day at 331 Third Ave. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso signed a warrant Monday for Hornak’s arrest. Martin’s charges went out in a summons.
Heroin overdose: Jonathan R. Estock, 40, of 660 McKee Ave., Monessen, is charged by city police with endangering the welfare of children over allegations he suffered a heroin overdose, leaving his three young children unsupervised in their home about 6:30 p.m. Saturday, court records show. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso issued the charge in a summons Tuesday.
Wood burner stolen: A representative of Carrington Home Solutions told state police last week that a wood burner was stolen from the basement of a foreclosed house in the 400 block of Buckingham Road, North Bethlehem.
Gun case: Jeramy Thomas Crissman, 34, of 815 Henry St., North Belle Vernon, is charged by township police with false statements and providing false information for firearm ownership on a June 18 application to purchase a shotgun at a Walmart at 100 Sara Way, court records show. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso issued the charges in a summons Monday.
Inmate charged: Matthew Curtis McCombs, 30, of 680 McCarrell Ave., Washington, is charged with possessing a shank and threatening to assault a corrections officer while an inmate at Washington County jail about 9:40 a.m. Nov. 3, court records show. District Judge Robert Redlinger issued the charges in a summons Tuesday.
Money stolen: Elizabeth Randall of Washington told Washington police Monday that information from her debit card was used to make three withdrawals at three banks in central Pennsylvania. She said a total of $500 was stolen from her account.
Items stolen: Two teenage boys told Washington police Monday that their cellphones and other items were stolen while they were playing football with friends near the intersection of Arch Street and Donnan Avenue.
