A 70-year-old blind woman died Friday night after allegedly getting lost near her residence.

According to state police, Regina Carol Hart of 613 Banetown Road, Amity, was looking for her dog near her residence after 6 p.m., when she became disoriented.

“As nighttime came and colder temperatures set in, the victim succumbed to pre-existing ailments,” the state police report said.

Lone Pine Fire Department personnel found the woman about midnight in a wooden thicket next to a cornfield in Amwell Township.

Washington police K-9 unit, a STAT MedEvac helicopter unit and the Washington County Coroner’s office assisted at the scene.
