Police beat Oct. 7
Cited in crash: Cody A. Birch, 24, of Brownsville, was cited by state police with failure to stop at a red light in connection with a two-vehicle crash Monday. According to a report, William J. Powell, 58, of Washington, was traveling north on Maiden Street (Route 40), attempting to turn left onto Main Street, when Birch failed to stop at a red light and struck Powell’s vehicle. Powell was transported to Washington Hospital by ambulance.
Arrested on warrant: Brandon Lynn Delfine, 36, no known address, was taken into custody Wednesday by Canonsburg police on a warrant obtained by state police on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver Xanax. Police were called to an apartment on Perry Como Street for a report of a woman who overdosed. Police said they found Delfine at the apartment, and also found suspected heroin, Suboxone and drug paraphernalia. The woman was taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment before she was arraigned on drug charges before District Judge Curtis Thompson. Delfine allegedly sold Xanax to a confidential informant in Washington Feb. 2, 2015. He was placed in Washington County jail on $1,000 bond.
Charges filed: Ryan Grame, 22, of Butler, is charged by township police with burglary, theft, trespassing, receiving stolen property and conspiracy, court records show. Police accuse him of having a role in the theft of $9,400 worth of jewelry between June 1 and 4 from a residence in the 100 block of Route 88 north. District Judge Mark Wilson signed a warrant for Grame’s arrest Wednesday.
Wallet stolen: Donald Soyka of 335 ½ Ewing St. told Chartiers police Wednesday his wallet containing $40, his Access card and identification was stolen.
Assault charge: Kaylyn M. Bryan, 23, of 104 Factory St., Monongahela, was charged Thursday in a private criminal complaint with simple assault. She is accused of assaulting a Deemston woman Aug. 3. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Curtis Thompson.
Theft report: Brandon C. Perine, 23, of 101 Linden Ave., Monessen, is charged by Monongahela police with theft over accusations he stole $300 from a relative who lives in the 1,100 block of Keenan Hill Road about 4:35 p.m. Monday, court records show. District Judge Mark Wilson signed an arrest warrant in the case Tuesday.
Arraigned on warrant: John R. Riggle Jr., 30, of 2155 Springfield Furnace, Smithfield, was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge Curtis Thompson on charges of resisting arrest, fleeing or attempting to elude police and traffic violations after he allegedly fled from state police and then crashed his vehicle on West Chestnut Street in North Franklin Sept. 28. He was placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Drug charges: Francis N. Falcon, 34, of 300 Weir Cole Road, Prosperity, was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger Tuesday on charges of possession with intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance. According to state police, a confidential informant purchased heroin from Falcon Oct. 13, 2015, in the parking lot of Washington Crown Center, 1500 W. Chestnut St. Falcon was placed in Washington County jail Sept. 6 on a parole detainer. A preliminary hearing is scheduled Oct. 12 before Redlinger.
Resisting charge: Darwin Butler, 26, 1682 E. Maiden St., Washington, was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger Tuesday for a July 9 incident in which he allegedly fled from police. According to the complaint, Butler was a passenger in a vehicle stopped near 1600 Park Ave. by North Franklin police. After providing a false name, Butler, who was wanted on a probation warrant, allegedly ran from the vehicle. He was detained a short time later on Ramsey Road by a North Franklin officer, who sustained a minor injury in the incident. Officers found a small amount of marijuana, unidentified pills and drug paraphernalia in the car. Butler was placed in Washington County jail. He faces charges of aggravated assault, flight to avoid apprehension, obstructing law, resisting arrest, providing false identification to law enforcement, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. A preliminary hearing is scheduled Oct. 12 before Redlinger.
Deceptive practice alleged: Franklin Freedman of Lake Worth, Fla., was charged Monday by North Strabane police with deceptive business practices. Freedman, who owns and operates Silent Standby Power Supply, reportedly sold items to Pennsylvania Solar Energy of North Strabane. The local company paid for the items but did not receive the items listed on the invoices, but rather something else or nothing at all, police said. The local company had a loss of $8,177.59. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller
Theft charge: Brandon McCombs of 543 Lone Pine Road, Washington, was charged this week in a private criminal complaint with theft. A North Strabane man claims he gave McCombs his 1937 John Deere tractor and $2,500 to paint it three years ago. He has not seen his tractor since, nor was the money returned. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Business charged: The operators of Dale and Vicki’s Collision of Pittsburgh were charged in a private criminal complaint with bad checks after allegedly failing to make good on a bad check for $1,574.63 given to Bobby Rahal BMW of South Hills, 2610 Washington Road, North Strabane, earlier this year. The dealership also is looking for reimbursement of a $40 bank charge. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Charges filed: Deborah Leeann Mitchell, 30, of Pittsburgh, is charged by township police with drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia over accusations she had 19 hydroxyzine pamoate capsules and five tablets of citalopram hydrobromide when she was taken into custody on a warrant at a business at Route 51 and Unity Lane about 6 p.m. Sept. 4, court records show. District Judge Charles Christner issued the charges in a summons Wednesday.
Drug charges: Alice Jo Baker, 73, of 110 Plainview St., Rostraver Township, is charged by township police with two counts of drug possession over allegations she had unprescribed doses of Alprazolam and diazepam when an officer responded to a suspicious call about 9:15 p.m. June 30 on Route 136 near West Newton, court records show. District Judge Charles Christner issued the charges in a summons Wednesday.
Prostitution charges: Michelle R. Clark, 29, of 101 Marra Ave., Washington, and Tricia Beth Goldreyer, 23, of 65 Laurie Lane, Washington, were charged Tuesday by state police with conspiracy and prostitution. The two allegedly were advertising their services on a website and made arrangements to perform sexual services for $200 at a South Strabane motel May 20, not knowing the person they were in contact with was an undercover trooper. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Assault arrest: Brian M. Sfranski, 27, of 164 Oak Spring Road, was arrested Wednesday by South Strabane police on charges of simple assault and harassment. He is accused of throwing his girlfriend to the floor and hitting her with his feet and hands during a confrontation at their home. He was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson and released.
Gun stolen: Brian Seabright of Pittsburgh told Washington police Wednesday his .380-caliber pistol was stolen from the center console of his vehicle while it was parked in Jollick Manor.
Inmate charged: James M. Large, 22, of 1319 Carrin Ave., Monongahela, was arraigned by District Judge Robert Redlinger Tuesday on charges of terroristic threats. According to Washington police, Large was an inmate in Washington County jail June 19 when he threatened an officer and the officer’s family after refusing to return a cup and fork. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 12 before Redlinger.
Drug charge: Leon L. McClain, 27, of 184 Laurie Lane, Washington, was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger Tuesday on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia for a July 6 incident on North Main Street. According to the complaint, Washington police found a needle, spoon and empty stamp bags on McClain when he was found staggering and barely able to stand. McClain was placed in Washington County jail on a parole detainer. A preliminary hearing is scheduled Oct. 12 before Redlinger.
Man jailed: Dontaey L. Clites, 25, of 2174 Whitehill Drive, Pittsburgh, was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger Tuesday in connection with a Sept. 8 drug raid. According to the complaint, the Washington County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 175 Brookside Ave., where they found more than 20 bricks of heroin and a stolen handgun. Clites was placed in Washington County jail with bail set at $25,000. He faces charges of possession with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, receiving stolen property and person not to possess a firearm. A preliminary hearing is scheduled Oct. 12 before Redlinger.
