Police Beat Sept. 3
Debit cards accessed: Joseph A. Cecka and John Valentine, both of Canonsburg, told Canonsburg police Thursday information on their debit cards was accessed and used to make purchases in the eastern part of Pennsylvania. Both men told police they believe the information was accessed at Lone Pine One-Stop off the Lone Pine exit of Interstate 79, Amwell. The men told police they were in the pipeline business, and they and other co-workers have had their cards compromised.
LPN charged: Eileen Maloy, 43, of 36 School St., Claysville, was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge David Mark on a charge of improperly obtaining drugs. She was charged by the state attorney general’s office after investigators determined she signed out more narcotic pain medication than was necessary while working as a licensed practical nurse at Kade’s Nursing Home, 1198 W. Wylie Ave., Canton, during a six-week period in July and August 2015. She reportedly told an investigator she became addicted to pain pills after dental work and said the drugs were for personal use. She was released on her own recognizance.
Assault charge: Anthony McCartney, 43, of 1620 Weirich Ave., Canton, was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge David Mark on charges of simple assault and harassment filed by state police. He is accused of punching Alexander McCartney Monday. He was released on his own recognizance with orders not to have contact with the alleged victim.
Drug arrest: Heather E. Sloan, 32, of Merritstown, Fayette County, was arrested Thursday by Carroll Township police on charges of possession of narcotics and paraphernalia. Police said she was found with pills, heroin and syringes while visiting the behavioral health unit at Monongahela Valley Hospital. She was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Lewdness, harassment charges: Edward J. Goist, 54, of 747 N. Main St., was charged Thursday by Chartiers police with open lewdness and harassment. He is accused of dropping his pants while standing on his deck Aug. 23 and exposing himself to three adults and four children ranging in age from 2 to 7 during an incident with a neighbor. He also allegedly made an obscene gesture. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Two charged: Donna Little, 47, of 60 Carl Ave., Eighty Four, and Christine Lee Williams, 29, of 1203 Main St., Bentleyville, were charged by North Strabane police with disorderly conduct stemming from a physical confrontation at Little’s home. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Warrant arrest: Justin J. Jordan, 24, of 109 Broadway St., Brownsville, was arrested Thursday night on a warrant obtained by South Strabane police charging him with retail theft and conspiracy stemming from a theft from Home Depot, 255 Murtland Ave., May 28. He was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka and released on his own recognizance.
Tailgate stolen: Jesse Maulsky of Edmund, Okla., told South Strabane police Thursday the tailgate was stolen from his 2005 Dodge 3500 pickup truck while it was parked at Tanger Outlets.
Receiving charge: Thomas A. Reed Jr., 30, of New Castle, was arrested Tuesday by state police on a charge of receiving stolen property after police said he was caught driving a stolen Honda Civic on Interstate 70, Twilight. The car was reported stolen to state police in New Castle. He was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Car scratched: Amber Harris of 187 E. Katherine Ave. told Washington police Friday her car was scratched by a vandal.
Window broken: Ralph Briesel of Bethel Park told Washington police Thursday a window on his van was broken while it was parked in the 100 block of North Franklin Street.
