St. George’s Anglican Church will hold a rummage sale and bake sale Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, at the church at 100 Bonar Ave., Waynesburg. The sale will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.
A special showing of “Anonymous People,” a documentary about recovery from drug abuse, will be held at First Baptist Church of Waynesburg at 303 W. High St. in the borough. The movie will be shown at 6 p.m. Sept. 30 and include a light meal, dessert and beverage. There will be a discussion about the film afterward.
Waynesburg University will host a “Nursing as a Career Day” for high school students interested in pursuing nursing. The event is scheduled for Oct. 6, with registration beginning at 9 a.m. in room 104 of the Center for Research and Economic Development on the campus. The day will highlight the school’s bachelor of science degree in nursing and include tours, meetings with faculty, financial aid information and lunch. There will also be a chance to tour the sophisticated simulation lab and learn how the university’s nursing students learn complex patient care.
