Carmichaels country music star to appear on House Hunters TV show

Brynn Marie is returning to Carmichaels this week, but with a new last name and for a different type of show.
The Carmichaels native-turned country star is visiting from Nashville with new husband Josh Himes, as stars of an episode of HGTV’s House Hunters. The couple got married last November and they recently bought a house in Nashville as part of the reality television show.
“We were super excited about getting a house and starting that next exciting chapter in life,” Brynn said Wednesday in an interview with the Observer-Reporter. “It was a challenge and a test of our relationship and all about learning how to compromise.”
Brynn and Josh plan to watch the episode, which airs 10 p.m. Friday, with a family-viewing party in Carmichaels. She said they were shown three houses during the episode, but viewers will have to wait until Friday night to see what happens.
Buying the house is just one of the most recent milestones in the couple’s whirlwind romance – a love story like no other, and one that began with a tweet.
Josh, a 27-year-old professional boxer preparing to train in Miami for an upcoming bout, who was born and raised in Beaver County, was scrolling through Twitter in June 2015 when a particular tweet caught his eye. It was a Froggy Radio advertisement for a one of Brynn’s upcoming shows.
He contacted his friend and radio station host known as “Danger Frog,” who happened to know Brynn personally, too, and asked who she was. He then asked “Danger” to say “hello” to Brynn for him.
Brynn, 32, said as a professional athlete living in Miami at the time, Josh already had two strikes on him before they ever spoke. After he said “hello” three times, Brynn eventually told their mutual friend “Danger” to say “hello” back.
Their first phone conversation lasted four hours and from there, the perfect strangers talked about eight hours over the phone every day for about a month, finding common ground in Christianity and Western Pennsylvania upbringings.
“It wasn’t even awkward for a second,” she said.
Before the couple met, Josh met Brynn’s father, John Cirota and her two brothers Ryan and Tony Cirota at one of his fights in West Virginia. John Cirota told Josh if he wanted to take his daughter on a date, he had to win the fight.
“I knew it was going to be a tough fight because my thumb was broken in three places,” Josh said.
Josh won and Brynn’s family reported back to her that her new boyfriend was a “knockout.”
Two weeks later, the love birds met for the first time at Pittsburgh International Airport, Brynn said.
“We hugged and it was instant chemistry,” she said.
Josh proposed Sept. 3 last year and the couple married Nov. 7 in Beaver County.
Brynn said getting married and buying a house has only enhanced her music career. She has two albums out right now and another she anticipates to be released next year. She has a new single coming out called “Phoenix” that she wrote while sitting at the edge of a boxing ring, watching Josh fight.
“It’s a fight anthem song that’s super inspirational to everybody,” she said.
Josh still trains and fights in Miami and has a fight coming up in December, but aside from their own personal careers, the couple is launching their own nonprofit organization called Fight2Fight.
Together, they hope to coordinate events, fundraisers and support groups for people who are fighting cancer, other diseases or some sort of emotional or physical battle. The idea was inspired by Brynn’s older brother Tony, who recently beat cancer, she said.
“We believe that everyone is a fighter and has a story to tell,” she said. “That is what we’re putting a lot of our focus on right now – using both of our platforms in a positive way.”
