Police Beat April 7
Charges mount: Robert Erin Jones, 45, of 327 Route 906, Rostraver Township, is charged by township police with deceptive business practices over allegations he accepted $110 for lawn care services for Priscilla Kaluponon, 98 Sunset St., that were not performed, court records show. Jones is free on unsecured bond in a string of similar complaints in the Mon Valley. Police filed the most recent case against Jones Wednesday before District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Warrant issued: Manuel J. Recasens, 33, of 1104 Lower Meadow Ave., Charleroi, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with providing an officer with a false name during a call to his residence about a man suffering a heroin overdose about 2 p.m. Wednesday, court records show. District Judge Larry Hopkins signed a warrant Thursday for Recasens’ arrest in the case.
Man charged: Alvin Ellison King, 60, of 4 Delrose Drive, Monessen, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with trespassing and criminal mischief over allegations he forced his way into the Prospect Avenue residence of his ex-girlfriend about 7:15 p.m. Wednesday and damaged property valued at $800, court records show. District Judge Larry Hopkins signed a warrant Thursday for King’s arrest.
Woman charged: Crystal Marie Bruce, 34, of 414 Oakland Ave., Charleroi, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with false identification and driving without a license stemming from a traffic stop about 1:30 a.m. Thursday at Sixth Street and Lookout Avenue, court records show. District Judge Larry Hopkins issued the case in a summons Thursday.
Theft allegations: Jonathan Estela-Rivera, 27, of Monessen, is charged by city police with theft and receiving stolen property over allegations he stole a number of items from Linda Brozik between Dec. 24 and Jan. 13 and then sold some of them to a pawn shop, court records show. District Judge Charles Christner issued the case in a summons Wednesday.
Drug charges: Billy W. Metz Jr., 19, of 724 Giffin Ave., Canonsburg, was charged this week by North Strabane police with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia as well as a traffic violation stemming from a March 30 traffic stop on Morganza Road at Southpointe Boulevard. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Theft charge: James M. Clothey, 51, of Lawndale, Calif., was charged Wednesday by North Strabane police with theft by deception and deceptive business practices after a township resident reportedly sent him $2,100 for a Nissan Altima that was to be delivered to her daughter in Henderson, Nev., by Feb. 26. He reportedly told the woman if he did not deliver the car, he would refund her the money. The resident told police that her daughter did not get the car, nor did she get her money back. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Man jailed: Mark A. Santory, 32, of 47 Mathews Road, Rostraver Township, is charged by Rostraver police with simple assault and harassment over allegations he pushed his girlfriend, Amanda Sweikert, against a wall and grabbed her by the neck about 3:15 a.m. Thursday at 201 Mathews Road, court records show. Santory is in Westmoreland County Jail on $5,000 bond set by District Judge Charles Christner.
Woman charged: Stephanie N. Victor, 24, of 25 Victoria St., Washington, was charged Tuesday by South Strabane police with possession and possession with intent to deliver crack and possession of paraphernalia stemming from a March 19 incident at Motel 6, 1283 Motel 6 Drive. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller. She also faces charges of disorderly conduct and harassment to be filed by Washington police after she allegedly fought with two women at different locations in the city Wednesday afternoon.
Identity stolen: Debrah Borck-Chapman of Washington told Washington police Wednesday that her Social Security number was used to obtain a Walmart Mastercard last month. She told police there was a $1,496.51 balance on the card.
Man bilked: A 69-year-old Washington man told Washington police Wednesday that he was bilked out of $497.50. He told police that he received a letter that he won a Publisher’s Clearing House prize for cash and a car but had to send the money to an address in New York. He realized he was conned when he was asked for more money.
Women charged: Lisa Barnett, 22, of 252 Forrest Ave., and Kathy Davis, 50, of Pittsburgh, were charged by Washington police with disorderly conduct after they allegedly struck each other during a confrontation Wednesday at 252 Forrest.
