Deputies conduct warrant sweep
Members of the Washington County sheriff’s office, along with several other law enforcement agencies, conducted a warrant sweep Friday in Washington, Canonsburg and Houston, taking 24 people into custody and getting a warrant for another alleged scofflaw.
Many of those taken into custody were wanted for failing to appear at court hearings or failing to pay fines and costs levied against them. Several people were wanted by Washington County adult probation. Those arrested were placed in Washington County Jail.
Lorenzo Lloyd, 30, of Washington, was taken into custody after he failed to return to the county jail. He also has warrants against him filed by Washington police on drug-related, simple assault and escape charges.
Agencies assisting included Canonsburg, Washington and South Strabane Township police, the Greene County sheriff’s office, Washington County probation and drug task force, state constables and state probation officers.
