A Marianna man was arrested Tuesday by state police after he allegedly raped and impregnated a mentally disabled woman.

Dominike Francis Tedrow, 45, of 97 Fifth St., is charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, rape of a mentally disabled person, sexual assault and sexual assault of a person unable to give consent.

Police were called to the Washington Hospital emergency room Dec. 2, 2015, after a 23-year-old woman came in and was complaining of abdominal pain. An examination by hospital staff showed she was nine weeks pregnant. Tedrow reportedly brought her to the hospital because she had been complaining of abdominal pain and had been vomiting.

The woman told police she did not want him to have sex with her and it happened four times over a 12-month period. A doctor did an evaluation of the woman and determined she did not understand the nature of sex acts and does not have the capacity to make informed decisions about sexual activity.

The woman delivered a baby June 14, 2016. DNA samples reportedly showed Tedrow had a probability of paternity of 99.99 percent.

Tedrow was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson and released from Washington County Jail after posting a $35,000 percentage bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing April 19 before Thompson.
