BUFFALO
Charged in crash: David J. Plants, 49, of 306 E. Buffalo Church Road, Washington, was charged Tuesday by state police with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to stay in his lane, reckless and careless driving and failure to notify police stemming from a March 29 rollover crash on Route 40 at East Buffalo Church Road, Buffalo. Police said he left the scene and eventually returned home. Police said he refused to submit to a blood-alcohol test. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
Firearms charges: Trisha Ann Shreve, 34, of 200 Latimer Ave., Strabane, was charged last week by state police with unsworn falsification and illegal sale or transfer of a firearm after she allegedly provided incorrect information on an application to purchase a firearm Nov. 5 at ARH Sport Shop, Route 40, Buffalo. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
DUI alleged in crash: Travis T. Rice, 35, of Uledi, Fayette County, was charged Tuesday by state police with DUI, failure to stay in his lane, careless driving, reckless driving and having an open container of alcohol in connection with a March 17 crash on Interstate 70 westbound near the Taylorstown exit, Buffalo. Police said his blood-alcohol content was 3 ½ times the limit at which intoxication is presumed. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
CHARTIERS
Two injured: Martin E. Burks, 51, of 425 N. Main St., Houston, and Mary Jane Vozel, 74, of 1880 W. Chestnut St., Washington, each refused treatment for minor injuries when their vehicles collided about 9:10 p.m. Saturday, Chartiers police said. Burks was making a left turn into his driveway when his vehicle collided with the vehicle driven by Vozel.
Gun stolen: Walter Ross of Welsh Road reported his Kel-Tec 911 handgun stolen to Chartiers police Thursday.
Truck cap stolen: John Camps of 60 First St., Meadow Lands, told Chartiers police Thursday that a blue, 6-foot fiberglass cap was stolen from his Dodge Dakota.
CLAYSVILLE
Theft charge: William Jones, 38, whose last known address was Massillon, Ohio, was charged last week by Donegal police with theft and criminal mischief for allegedly breaking into a change machine at Claysville Laundry, 225 Main St., Nov. 12. The charges were sent from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
DONEGAL
Contractor charged: Samuel Leon Wilson, 28, of Moundsville, W.Va., was charged last week by Donegal police with theft by deception for allegedly taking $755 to do work at a home on Main Street, West Alexander, but never doing the work. The charge was sent from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
EAST BETHLEHEM
Harassment charges: Four people face harassment charges after they allegedly were involved in a fight in Vestaburg March 29. State police said Nicole E. Widener, 20, of Vestaburg; Jacqueline J. Gilbreaith, 21, of Brownsville; Anna M. Chiovitti, 45, of Vestaburg; and Richard A. Liberatore, 46, of Vestaburg, were charged through District Judge Joshua Kanalis’ office in connection with the fight, which allegedly occurred at 310 Second St.
McDONALD
Burglary charges: Austin Fawcett, 18, of Sturgeon, was arrested Monday night by McDonald police on charges of conspiracy, criminal mischief, loitering and prowling at night, burglary and attempted burglary after he allegedly tried to break into Giant Eagle, 200 Station St. Police were called just before 11 p.m. to the store. Police said surveillance showed Fawcett first ramming a shopping cart into a glass door before throwing a stop signed weighed down with concrete through the door. He fled when the alarm went off and was found a short time later, police said. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
WASHINGTON
Car burned: A state police fire marshal ruled arson was the cause of a fire that damaged a vehicle owned by Jakub Skezyprzak, 97 W. Walnut St., late Sunday night or Monday morning. Skezyprzak told police he went out in the morning, and when he opened the door, smoke came from inside and the passenger seat was burned. He also reported a survival knife and transmitter stolen from the vehicle.
