Police pursuit: James S. Post, 43, of 1892 Route 2023, Carroll Township, is charged by borough police with fleeing or attempting to elude and officer stemming from a vehicle pursuit that began about 12:30 a.m. Saturday on Main Street, with the suspect reaching speeds of 85 mph., before he lost control of his vehicle, court records show. Post’s vehicle also struck a police cruiser twice before he was taken into custody. He is in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond set Tuesday by District Judge Curtis Thompson.

Shed entered: State police said a thief entered a shed at 1846 Morey Road, Deemston, on Tuesday, and stole a John Deere riding lawn mower, two chain saws, power sprayer and a black toolbox containing an assortment of tools.

Truck driver injured: Richard Snyder, 51, of Natrona Heights, was injured when his tractor-trailer was hit from behind by a rig driven by Daniel Castellano, 46, of Florida, about 6:40 p.m. Monday on Interstate 70 west near the Jefferson Avenue exit, Washington. State police said Snyder moved to the left to avoid slower traffic and debris on the road. Castellano also moved left but was unable to stop to avoid the other rig. Snyder was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment.
